Mary Matsuda Gruenewald, author of the 2005 memoir, “Looking Like the Enemy,” and Lawrence Matsuda, whose book of poetry, “A Cold Wind from Idaho,” was recently published, will read from their works and discuss their Internment experiences, accompanied by a photo presentation.

Now eighty-five and a retired RN, Mary Matsuda Gruenewald began writing her story in her seventies, no longer willing to stay within what she describes as "the self-imposed barbed-wire fenced built around my experiences in the camps." A Young Reader's edition of “Looking Like the Enemy” is being published in October.

A former teacher and school administrator and now an educational consultant, Larry Matsuda was born in the Minidoka, Idaho War Relocation Center during World War II. His poems appear in Poets Against the War website, “The Raven Chronicles,” “New Orleans Review,” “Floating Bridge Press”, “Cerise Press,” and the “International Examiner" newspaper.
