Understanding Distributed Wind Systems

“Going green” in today’s world is more than just the latest trend. It has
become a new way of life for many. Specifically, wind energy has become a popular point of discussion in northwest Ohio. However there are numerous factors to consider before generating power for your home or business: different characteristics of wind turbines, net metering agreements, sizing the right turbine, permits needed, and even available grants to fund a turbine!

Glen Ginesi, president of Engineered Process Systems (EPS), will present “Understanding Distributed Wind Systems” on Thurs., Sept. 16
from 7:30 – 9 a.m. at the monthly Northwest Ohio Ag-Business Breakfast Forum. EPS is the largest installer of distributed wind turbine capacity in Ohio.

The cost is just $10/person payable at the door (cash or check). Walk-ins are welcome, but guests are encouraged to reserve a seat in advance by contacting Paula Ray at 419-823-3099 or pray@eisc.org.

The Northwest Ohio Ag-Business Breakfast Forum is an educational networking opportunity to provide information on current issues, trends and programs available to the agricultural community and those who support its advancement.

ITEC 2010: International Tire Exhibition & Conference

What types of companies will be exhibiting at ITEC?

ITEC’s exhibitors will be companies supplying anyone in the tire industry from the tire manufacturers to the tire retailers to the commercial dealers and even to some of the big users. In the past, ITEC has had between 100 and 125 exhibitors. By expanding ITEC in 2010, we expect to far exceed that number. Anyone selling to the independent tire dealer and the commercial dealer are now great prospects as exhibitors.

Who is the typical attendee for this event?

The primary target is really two-fold:
► It is the tire dealer, the tire retailer and the commercial dealers. The conference programs
we are putting together will be targeted toward them.
► We will still be appealing to and putting together programs for the tire manufacturers:
the compounder, the chemist, the mathematician, the manufacturer and the plant manager.

More Info:

www.itec-tireshow.com…

Nuclear Forum Cleveland

The Future of Nuclear Technology in the U.S.

Nuclear energy can be politically-charged topic. This event will serve to educate participants on the current realities and future needs of the domestic nuclear energy industry through conversations on technology. The reality of nuclear energy is that it is a safe and globally important energy source. For the U.S., all the technology and safety measures will have little value if the general public doesn’t understand and accept deployment of nuclear technology. This conference is designed to start the process of breaking down nuclear energy into factual elements so that interested parties can make informed decisions about the future of nuclear energy in the U.S.

The one day conference is broken into 4 consecutive panel discussions; Technology, Economic Impact, Environmental, and Public Policy. Based on the panel titles, the first question that comes to mind is “How do these tie into technology?” The answer to this question is complex, but the need is necessary. When an individual or organization dives into nuclear energy, typically their first few data points come from the internet or television. While there is a wealth of knowledge available via these media streams, it is often colored by opinions and non-technical interpretations of the facts.

Who Should Attend

* Current or future national suppliers to nuclear industry
* Utilities and Energy Co-ops
* General public who have sincere interest/desire in nuclear power generation

Why You Should Attend

* Meet the organizations and companies driving and supporting the future of nuclear technology
* Understand the gains that can be realized from advancements in technology

Additional Information

If you have questions or require additional information, please contact info@nuclearfabrication.org.

Sustainable Cleveland Summit 2010: The Global Engine

Summit 2010: The Global Engine

Last summer, Mayor Frank G. Jackson brought together a diverse group of people vested in and dedicated to Cleveland to use their vast knowledge and imagination to create an action plan for building a green economy for Cleveland’s future. As promised, he is convening a follow up summit for this year. At this year’s summit, efforts will be focused on generating momentum on current efforts and promoting job creation. Summit 2010: The Glocal Engine will be held September 22-23 at the Cleveland Convention Center. This year’s summit will focus on the strength of the local economy in positioning our region to be globally competitive. We will explore how SC2019 can positively impact the capacity of creating a stronger connection between the local and global businesses.

This year’s follow-up summit will again incorporate the Appreciative Inquiry method (AI) as the facilitation method. AI is a collaborative, interactive, and action oriented process for creating change. We are doing more than having conversations; we are planning how we will solidify Cleveland’s sustainable future. That is why participants are asked to commit to both days of this summit. A firm commitment is required in order for applicants to obtain an appointment to the Summit team.
