DESCRIPTION:Why must paint be applied only to square or rectangular canv
ases? Inspired by the works of Frank Stella and Elizabeth Murray\, emer
ging artist Julio Cesar Rodarte starts his creative process by first con
structing a canvas in an unusual shape. Once he has his sculptural fo
rm\, he then paints on the shapes with colorful repetitive patterns\, ge
 ometric shapes\, forms\, silhouettes\, numbers\, going wherever the insp
iration of the form takes him. Join us for a reception Friday\, March 5
 \, 2010. 7pm.
