On behalf of the Tubman-Mahan Art Gallery of the Center for Green Urbanism, Authentic Contemporary Art is inviting artists to submit artwork for ReCREATE. This will be the inaugural exhibition of the Gallery and will showcase artwork that is made up of recycled or recyclable materials. It will coincide with the Center's official Grand Opening, scheduled for Friday, October 15, 2010. Open to U.S. artists 18 years and older.
In keeping with the "green" mission of the Center and Gallery, ReCREATE focuses on art created from items that are normally thrown away but can be recycled. Recyclable or recycled objects must be incorporated into the artwork. 24th Annual National Juried Arts Exhibition
The Cultural Arts Council of Douglasville/Douglas County will present the 24th Annual National Juried Arts Exhibition, selected by esteemed and innovative curator and director Kevin Grogan, Executive Director of the Morris Museum of Art in Augusta, Georgia. The exhibition will open on Thursday, November 4th, and will be on view through December 3rd. 2010 Photographer's Fellowship Fund
One $2,500 fellowship will be awarded to a regional artist working in photography by guest juror, Laurel Ptak. There is no fee to enter, and if selected, your award may be used in any way you choose to help advance your creative career. Fellowship recipients are only required to contribute a piece to CPW’s Permanent Print Collection, which is held on extended loan at the Samuel Dorsky Museum of Art at SUNY New Paltz.
The 2010 Photographers Fellowship Fund Award will be presented at CPW’s Annual Benefit Gala held in Woodstock on Sunday October 10.

The prize carries an award of Rs 10,00,000 [Rupees one million]. It seeks to recognize and reward the finest Indian contemporary artist. Fair Trade Artisans Art Competition
Trash to Treasure is the theme and $500 is up for grabs! The Open Studios Press sponsors 6 competitions per year. Winners receive full color spreads in our nationally distributed periodical New American Paintings. We have divided the country into 5 regions (Northeast, South, Midwest, West and Pacific Coast), each of which is the focus of an annual competition, and have recently added a sixth competition for students enrolled in a US passed MFA program.
Our competitions are open to all artists working within the United States. All styles and media are welcome, as long as the work is singular and two-dimensional. This competition is open to all artists who are currently Masters of Fine Art candidates.

It's like a concert tour, but with sketchbooks. Sign up and pick your theme and we'll send you a blank sketchbook. After you fill it up and send it back to us, we'll take it on a national tour to 6+ cities along with thousands of other sketchbooks. The books will travel to museums and galleries in Brooklyn, Atlanta, Austin, San Francisco, Chicago, and Portland, MN. After the tour, your book becomes a part of the permanent collection at the Brooklyn Art Library in Brooklyn, NY.
This year we've added a ton of new features including notifications via text message or email when someone looks through your book, bio cards in every book, live webcasts of some of the tour stops, and more!

Dave Bown Projects - 1st Semiannual Competition

Richeson School of Art & Gallery, a division of Jack Richeson & Co. Inc. is proud to announce the Richeson 75 Small Works 2011 Competition. Seventy-five two-dimensional works of art and several alternates will be selected to represent the finest examples of painting and drawing being produced by today’s visual artists. The following prizes will be awarded:
Best In Show - $2,000 cash award. First Place in each category will receive a $1000 certificate for art materials from Jack Richeson & Co. Inc. Second Place Award in each category will receive a $500 certificate for art materials from Jack Richeson & Co. Inc.
