Throughout the ages, the language of poetry has held a special power to lend us courage, to give us the vision of those who endured and to hazard ourselves boldly in the world we must inhabit. The insights and imagery of poetry can take us beyond any small perimeter we have made for ourselves and call us to look life straight in the eyes. DONALD HOTSON - DIRAC'S EQUATION AND THE SEA OF NEGATIVE ENERGY
Retreat Center Events
Type of Event: Friendly Favors Dinner. Presenter(s): Donald Hotson/Friendly Favors. Summary: Potluck dinner and presentation by a most original thinker in Physics presenting a theory whose implications invites us to question all the way to our Big Bang theory. Description: Mr. Donald Hotson discovered the point at which modern physics went off the track. Dirac’s Equation, perhaps the most important in all of science, has four solutions. Two are positive energy, and refer to the electron and the positron. The negative energy solutions have always been ignored. Mr. Hotson shows that this was a terrible mistake, and that taking all of the solutions at face value provides answers to the most intractable problems in modern Physics, including the one which got him kicked out of Phy… Presenter(s) Bios: Donald Hotson always intended a career in physics. Unfortunately, he could not resist asking awkward questions. His professors taught that conservation of mass-energy is the never-violated, rock-solid foundation of all physics.
In “pair production” a photon of at least 1.022 MeV “creates” an electron-positron pair, each with 0.511 MeV of rest energy, with any excess being the momentum of the “created” pair. So supposedly the conservation books balance.
But the “created” electron and positron both hav… Special Details: About this event:
