Symphony Under the Sky returns for its 16th annual outdoor music festival at Hawrelak Park from September 3rd – 6th, 2010. The always charming conductor Bob Bernhardt returns to lead the orchestra for his fifth consecutive year. With special guest artists Karen Gomyo and Jim Witter, guest conductor Claude Lapalme, and Edmonton’s own Knock School of Irish Dance, the ESO’s concert repertoire will range from Celtic to Canadian, John Williams to Elton John, and Bach to Brahms.

The Edmonton Firefighters will be hosting the second annual Fashion On Fire charity fundraiser.
The event highlights all of the charities run by Edmonton Fire Rescue Services personnel –Firefighter Memorial Society, Firefighter Burn Treatment Society and Muscular Dystrophy Canada – and is an excellent way for these groups to raise needed funds.

Joe Matheson pays tribute to the King of Country Music in this fully scripted musical theatre piece. This presentation is an intimate, funny and bittersweet re-imagining of Hank's final recording session just months before his death.

The 2010 self-titled album The Sojourners is the second recording for the Vancouver-based gospel vocal trio comprised of Will Sanders, Ron Small, and Marcus Mosely. For more than 80 years, Septeto Nacional Ignacio Pineiro has reigned supreme as the world's foremost champion and protector of Cuban son, the musical heartbeat of Cuba. This seven-piece 2004 Grammy-nominated band was founded in 1927 by Ignacio Pineiro Martinez (1888-1969), the wildly prolific Cuban bassist and composer known affectionately as "El Poeta del Son." Third and fourth generation descendents of the founding group combine elements of original and contemporary Spanish song and guitar music with African rhythms and percussion. Their sound is classic, yet fresh, and is completely infused with the verve and spirit of the Island.

Long-time social activist and environmental protectionist, Zachary Richard has recorded 16 studio albums of which 5 were declared gold albums in Canada, with 1 double platinum. His career has been influenced by the Cajan musical tradition and native Louisiana French. In 2009, Richard was made an honourary Member of the Order of Canada "for his contributions as an author, composer, singer and poet, and for his important role in defending and promoting the French language and the 'Cadian' and Acadian identity." He is known throughout Scotland as the host of BBC Radio Scotland's award-winning "Travelling Folk" show, which he has presented for over 25 years.
