Mixed media artist, Deborah Weed, received the Miami Beach Garden's Arts Award at the Common Roots art exhibit during the fall of 2009. She was awarded a one-woman show at the Miami Beach Botanical Garden. Weed's grandmother was a world-renowned painter and her mother was a well-known sculptor turned entertainer.
The exhibit will feature all three artists: daughter, Deborah Weed; mother, Judith Gindy and grandmother, Reyna Youngerman.
3G-Everlasting *Three Generations of Timeless Art will be at the Miami Beach Botanical Garden from March 22nd through March 25th, 2010.
The opening reception is on March 23rd at 7:00 p.m.
"This is the best way that I can honor my mother's and grandmother's contribution to my life," said Weed. "Although both of them are no longer alive, there are no coincidences. My mother's birthday was March 23rd, the same day as the opening reception."

Viernes Culturales/Cultural Fridays is an artistic, cultural, and social arts and culture fair that takes place on the last Friday of each month in the historic Little Havana neighborhood of Miami, FL, in the heart of Calle Ocho (8th St. SW between 14th and 17th Avenues). The Weintraub Observatory houses two powerful Meade telescopes. At 7:30 p.m. each first Friday of the month a free Planetarium show precedes Observatory session.

A unique art movement has emerged combining the dynamic and interrelated
worlds of comics, anime and hip-hop, with the elements of modern art. This movement
celebrates its multi-cultural, international influence on science fiction, action
and adventure and other confluences within and surrounding present day artistic
culture.
This movement is defined by an inspired, original approach to existing
entertainment media that redefines the media itself.
In the spirit of this, R. Jackson has coined this new genre “DONŪ” in
tribute to the famed hip-hop producer J Dilla whose last work, the magnum opus
“Donuts” left an indelible mark on that industry.
R. Jackson & Caiphus are pushing DONŪ into the realm of Pop Art. With
DONŪPOP they explore the meaning of desire as it relates to spirituality in

DERM is gearing up for the 28th annual Biscayne Bay Cleanup Day, scheduled for Saturday, Apr. 17 from 9 a.m. to noon. Join thousands of volunteers like you for the largest shoreline cleanup of its kind in South Florida. Last year, more than 8,500 participants had a great time collecting more than 32 tons of garbage from our shores and nearby islands of Biscayne Bay!
Biscayne Bay Cleanup volunteers leave with the satisfaction of knowing they made a tremendous effort on behalf of the environment. There are 27 cleanup sites to choose from, so pack a lunch and bring your friends and family for a great day on the Bay!
