Tri-State Special Kids' Rodeo

The Special Kids' Rodeo is open to all children and adults who have a mental and/or physical handicap. It is wheel chair accessible. Contestants participate in the rodeo events of horseback riding, roping, goat tying, simulated bull and bronc riding, a trolley ride pulled by draft horses, and there is a petting zoo and miniature ponies. This is a totally free event, and a free barbeque lunch is served. We will have close to 200 participants this year. Walk-ins are welcome that morning. The Police Benevolent & Protective Association will be having a cookout at the County Market on 48th & Broadway on Saturday, Sept. 4th from 10:30am until 2:00pm. Quincy Public Library Big Read Kick-off at the Women's City Club

The Quincy Public Library will host the BIG READ kick-off Gatsby style at the Women's City Club, a local Italianate mansion at 1550 Maine Street. The mansion sits atop a sprawling acre of land and possesses architectural details reminiscent of the famed Gatsby mansion. The kick-off will be held outside with a display of period automobiles lining the curved driveway. Hors d'oeuvres will be served while Jazz music plays in the background. Community Bible Study

Community Bible Study (CBS) is enrolling for their Bible study on the book of Genesis. Drive One 4 UR School with Carson Motors and Illini West High School

Ford Motor Company and Carson Ford are partnering to help raise up to $6,000 in support of Illini West High School as part of the Drive One 4 UR School program.
