Quilts in Western Australia were amongst treasured family items from the days of early settlement, important enough to be handed down through the generations. Here in Kalgoorlie patchwork and quilting are popular activities, with quilts ranging from the practical to the wonderfully decorative, from wedding presents and birthday gifts to wall hangings and experimental pieces using a range of embellishments and technologies.
This exhibition demonstrates the skills and imagination of patch workers and quilters of the Goldfields.

American writer Clifford Bradshaw visits the notorious Kit Kat Club where he meets the English singer Sally Bowles. Their love affair and also that of Cliff’s landlady and a Jewish greengrocer are played out against a background of mounting political violence.
This award winning musical will be presented in cabaret style at the Repertory Club with a supper provided in the interval. Drinks served by the Kit Kat girls.

Touch of Gold Toastmasters Club is a friendly and informal club where members can improve both their communication skills and their leadership skills.
Toastmasters helps overcome fear of public speaking, and assists people to become more competent and comfortable in front of an audience.
Participants practice and learn skills by filling a meeting role, ranging from giving a prepared speech or an impromptu one to serving as timer, evaluator or grammarian.
There is no instructor; instead, each speech and meeting is critiqued by a member in a positive manner, with encouraging, helpful feedback on how it went and how you can improve next time.
