2010 South End Open Studios

Because Yom Kippur falls on the third weekend in September, USEA has decided that in 2010 our only viable choice is to hold South End Open Studios the weekend of September 25th and 26th. This means for one year South End Open Studios and Jamaica Plain Open Studios will share the same weekend. We came to this conclusion when we realized that we were faced with the same exact scenario as in 2009 but with even steeper consequences if we stayed on our usual third weekend in September, because of the greater importance of Yom Kippur in the Jewish Calendar. This decision was not made lightly. We assure all other organizations that if another group finds it necessary to make this type of decision in future years because of conflicts in holiday observances that USEA will fully support their decision. United South End Artists, Inc. is a volunteer organization made up of artists who live and work in Boston’s South End. Each year the member artists of USEA invite the public to visit them… Phone: 617.635.3911. Audience: Young Adults (Ages 20-34). College Students. Adults. Visitors. Neighborhood: South End.
