17th Annual Jamaica Plain Open Studios
The Jamaica Plain Artists and Arts Organizations invite you to the 17th Annual Jamaica Plain Open Studios.
We are thrilled to come together as a group to open our studios and sites to neighbors and friends. The Jamaica Plain community of artists is diverse and plentiful, representing a wide variety of mediums and disciplines.
This event is for those who are curious about what creative resources exist within Jamaica Plain, those who like to view artwork close to the source of its creation, and for those who like the opportunity to purchase original artwork from the person who actually created it. Here is the chance to visit us where it all begins! Each artist will be on hand to answer questions about the artwork and how it is created.
We are located in several concentrated areas throughout the Open Studios route. Some of the individual artists and galleries have spaces located in collective buildings, others have spaces located in their homes. You’ll know an Open Studios site by the banner locate…

2010 South End Open Studios
Because Yom Kippur falls on the third weekend in September, USEA has decided that in 2010 our only viable
choice is to hold South End Open Studios the weekend of
September 25th and 26th.
This means for one year South End Open Studios and Jamaica Plain Open Studios will share the same weekend.
We came to this conclusion when we realized that we were faced with the same exact scenario as in 2009 but
with even steeper consequences if we stayed on our usual third weekend in September, because of the greater importance of Yom Kippur in the Jewish Calendar.
This decision was not made lightly. We assure all other organizations that if another group finds it necessary to make
this type of decision in future years because of conflicts in holiday observances that USEA will fully support their decision.
United South End Artists, Inc. is a volunteer organization made up of artists who live and work in Boston’s South End.
Each year the member artists of USEA invite the public to visit them…

Several animated films, prints, anamorphic drawings, and sculptural work will be on view.
