Classes/Workshops The American Red Cross, Cape Cod and Islands Chapter is organizing a number of training courses this winter. Seasonal Hyannis Walk

Hikes/Walks Runs daily through Nov. 20. This seasonal walk route includes the JFK Museum, the Cape Cod Melody Tent and the Kennedy Family Compound. Museum Opening Maritime Art Exhibit

Museums The only fully furnished Sea Captain’s home open to the public on Cape Cod provides an intimate glance into mid 1800s family life in eight rooms. The parlors are arranged as if the captain was just returning from his voyage to China, likely 16 to 18 months duration. His gentleman’s study waits for him. His gifts of silk fabric, toys, porcelain, lacquered pieces and tea are displayed as well as maritime exhibits and costumes from the period. Exhibits/Galleries “It’s the Real Thing” or at least some incredible simulacra in an exhibition featuring representational and photo realism The exhibit features three outstanding regional and nationally renown oil painters Sydney Bella Sparrow, Christopher W. Pothier, and Nancy DePew, and ceramicist Trisha Coates. Styles may come and styles may go, but representational art never loses favor. Museum Opening Maritime Art Exhibit

Museums The only fully furnished Sea Captain’s home open to the public on Cape Cod provides an intimate glance into mid 1800s family life in eight rooms. Ms. Huggett brings with her decades of experience and an international reputation as one of the foremost baroque violinists in the world. Born in London in 1953, the fifth of seven children, Monica took up the violin at age six in order to differentiate herself from her piano-playing siblings. At sixteen, and as a student of the Royal Academy of Music, she was won over by the mellow quality of the gut strings and became a fervent champion of the baroque violin.
