The Rangers at Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area and the Las Vegas Astronomical Society invite you to "Astronomy in the Park" at the Red Rock Visitors Center on 20 March. Set in Terezin, the “Jewish city” established by the Nazis near Prague (Czech Republic) as a way station before the death camps, the play recounts the determination and creativity of children to build lives filled with hope and beauty. In the face of unspeakable horror and the peril of being executed, the children play, study, create art and write an underground newspaper. Their actual poems and stories are woven into a fast paced-drama, evoking the universality of children caught in the insanity of war.

Bonneville Avenue in Las Vegas is designed for family and professional caregivers, featuring topics of interest to those who care for individuals with Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, ALS, dementia and other neurocognitive diseases. Veterans Legislative Symposium

The Nevada Office of Veterans Services (NOVS) will hold its biennial Legislative Symposium on Saturday, March 27, 2010, at the Las Vegas Hilton, located at 3000 Paradise Road. This is the first meeting of the NOVS legislative program, which solicits input and comments from veterans, stakeholders, and veteran advocates in developing the veterans’ legislative agenda for the 2011 Nevada legislative session. All veterans, their family members and advocates, active duty personnel and their families, and Nevada legislators are invited to participate.
The Symposium has four parts: a summary of the accomplishments of the past (2009) session, a review and reassessment of what items were not accomplished during this past session, a presentation of the NOVS goals and priorities based on Agency operations, and the "whiteboard" session, where participants provide issues or ideas for potential legislation for the 2011 session.
