Meet the Author & Illustrator Of 'Annabella's Magic Dress' at Tree House Books.

There will be a reading of "Annabella's Magic Dress" at 7 p.m.
"Annabella's Magic Dress" was originally a traveling story that Kathleen created to tell her daughter, Michelle, to entertain her as they drove the long roads through the mountains of Northern California during the early 1980s. At that time they lived 20 miles from the nearest town. Just one of the series of Annabella’s tales was Michelle’s favorite. Kathleen decided to write it down and illustrate it with pen and ink.
Twenty-six years later, during the winter that Michelle waited to give birth to her own daughter, Kathleen was inspired to overlay the pictures with the bright warmth of colored pencil and present it to her as a gift. In February of 2008, also Kathleen’s birth month, Bella Rose Marie came into the world, her name inspired by the Annabella story told those long years ago by her grandmother to her mother.
This story is now going out to all children-at-heart, from two to one hundred and two. With it Kathleen wants to conve…

Harry & David is planning its annual Taste of Harry & David, a food, wine, beer and music event, on Labor Day weekend.
The event is set from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 4 and 5 at Harry & David Country Village, 1314 Center Drive, Medford. Tickets are $15 or $10 plus 10 items of non-perishable food for ACCESS Food Share.
The event includes more than 50 booths offering samples of food, including artisan cheese, breads and sauces and local wines and beer. More than 30 wineries are taking part.
Musicians scheduled to perform include the Latin Jazz Quartet and Rhythm Kings on Saturday and the Blue Lightning Band and Rhythm Kings on Sunday.
Also as part of the event, local chefs will take part in a chef's challenge, pairing wines with Harry & David foods.

Harry & David is planning its annual Taste of Harry & David, a food, wine, beer and music event, on Labor Day weekend.
The event is set from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 4 and 5 at Harry & David Country Village, 1314 Center Drive, Medford. Tickets are $15 or $10 plus 10 items of non-perishable food for ACCESS Food Share.
The event includes more than 50 booths offering samples of food, including artisan cheese, breads and sauces and local wines and beer. More than 30 wineries are taking part.
Musicians scheduled to perform include the Latin Jazz Quartet and Rhythm Kings on Saturday and the Blue Lightning Band and Rhythm Kings on Sunday.
Also as part of the event, local chefs will take part in a chef's challenge, pairing wines with Harry & David foods.

Oak Knoll Fire Benefit
Fundraisers
The public can help the families who lost homes in the Oak Knoll fire on Aug. 24, 2010, by attending the Oak Knoll Fire Benefit from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 8, at the Oak Knoll Golf Course, 3070 Highway 66, Ashland.
The benefit will feature live entertainment from local impersonator/entertainer, Clint Ingbretson, along with a raffle and silent auction. Play a round of golf (nine holes) for only $8. Appetizers and desserts will be served free of charge and beer and wine will be available for purchase. Suggested donations will be $20 per person or $30 per couple.
The Firehouse Five Foundation will also be on hand to accept tax-deductible donations on behalf of the Oak Knoll families.
If you are unable to attend the benefit but would like to make a contribution, visit any branch of US Bank and make your donation payable to the "Ashland Fire Victim Fund." Donations can also be sent to Firehouse Five Foundation, P.O. Box 1404, Talent, OR 97540 and the foundation will mail back tax-deductible receipts.
