The Rhode Island Farmers Market Nutrition Program has scheduled training sessions for current and new farmers participating in the FMNP Program. As a requirement for the WIC FMNP Farmer Application procedure and/or your Farmer Participation Agreement, you are required to attend periodic training meetings: including one prior to the market being approved as a WIC Farmers Market. Such market training is also required by federal regulations. We suggest that the person you select for the training is someone who will be responsible for daily supervision of market activities. Multiple individuals are welcome to attend the training.
These trainings are very important, as we will be reviewing and discussing the WIC Farmer Participation Agreement with this program and the new rules and procedures regarding Fruit and Vegetable checks as well as all other rules, regulations and procedures you need to know.

Tom is a US Forest Service botanist based in Durham, NH. His work focuses on invasive plant issues in the New England-New York region. He began his professional career in 1982 with The Nature Conservancy, classifying New England's natural communities and conducting field studies throughout the Northeast. In rece…

WWF officials said Earth Hour is continuing to build strong momentum, with significantly more states and cities signed up compared with this time last year.
“Earth Hour sends a message that it’s time for America to switch to a cleaner, safer and more secure future,” said WWF President and CEO Carter Roberts. “We expect tens of millions Americans all across the nation will take part because they care about our country, our planet and our futu…
