The Atman Quartet, Bear Knife Stick Pigeon

ToST The Atman Quartet: The Atman Quartet is, in fact, a trio. There are many reasons why we decided on the name ‘Atman Quartet’ vs. ‘Atman Trio’; we sound more like a ‘quartet’ than a ‘trio’ we are always searching for a 4th man or woman, and we think of our audience as a fourth member of our band. The group comes from previous projects: Don’t Shake Your Baby, Delusions of Grandeur (D.O.G.), and Thunder Ten Tronch. Influences to their sweet jazzy funk style are Soulive, Ahmad Jamal, Brubeck Brothers Quartet, Sonicbloom, and Parliament Funkadelic among others. http://www.atmanquartet.com/Site_2/Home.html Bear Knife Stick Pigeon shares members with How Now Brown Cow: http://www.myspace.com/hownowbrowncowjazz. Pocket Panda, The Dating Pool, Levatar

ToST Pocket Panda: Strong, beautiful, rare and now miniaturized, Pocket Panda is a 9 member orchestral-synth-pop band based out of Seattle. At the core of the Pocket Panda sound are the uniquely contrasting melodic elements of deep male vocals, female backing vocals, moody brass, ethereal synthesizers, smooth-bodied woodwind and effusive violin. http://www.myspace.com/pocketpanda The Dating Pool: 1. Andrew: Vocals, Keyboards, Flute 2. Heather: Vocals, Bari and Tenor Sax 3. Naomi: Vocals, Keyboards, Glockenspiel http://www.myspace.com/datingpool Levatar: Levator’s music, comparable to Morphine, Sonic Youth and Mazzy Star, has an almost tranquilizing effect, with Lynn’s silvery voice sounding almost haunting at times. Working with a plethora of vintage effects pedals and creating live loops on the spot, the band meshes together seamlessly, and commands absolute attention in the most wonderful and unexpected way. - Synthesis http://www.myspace.com/levator. Zero Gravity Circus

ToST Zero Gravity Circus: After six years of musical collaboration, experimentation, and honing of craft, the four original members of Seattle’s former Broken Bottle Band have added to their lineup, intensified their sound, and united in 2009 to form the jam rock quintet, Zero Gravity Circus. Through the past half-decade, these young musicians have added sonically and philosophically to their sounds, ideas, and goals. The new force that has arisen both harkens back to the pure musicianship of groups like The Allman Brothers and The Grateful Dead, while consistently tackling the progression of rock, evolving the proven forms into contemporary experimentation. Zero Gravity Circus is bringing back high energy rock, going new places, and not looking back… http://www.myspace.com/zerogravitycircus. Friday, September 17, 2010, 9:00 PM. Rat City Brass, The Satellite 4

ToST Rat City Brass: Bonded by their common appreciation of classic mid-century instrumental pop - particularly the music of Herb Alpert’s Tijuana Brass - a group of seasoned musicians from wide-ranging backgrounds came together in 2009 to form Rat City Brass. RCB draw heavily from Herb Alpert’s mid 1960s catalog, but the group doesn’t stop there. By adding originals and songs by such artists as Burt Bacharach, John Barry, Ennio Morricone, The Ventures and Nat Adderley, Rat City Brass have created a unique band that is much more than just a Tijuana tribute. RCB instrumentation consists of two trumpets, trombone, keyboard, guitar, bass, drums and percussion. It’s a big group that creates a big sound. http://www.myspace.com/ratcitybrass The Satellite 4: Don't call it funk. Its not neo-anything. We're not putting on an act, or trying to be something we're not. All we do is respectfully, honestly play American southern soul music, and we do it damn well. Bring everything to a rolling boil, and here we are... playin… Saturday, September 18, 2010, 9:00 PM. ToST 513 N. 36th St. #E Seattle, WA 98103.
