Matt Coughlin Band, The Black Sails

ToST The Matt Coughlin Band's original music draws from several influences: a blending of folk, rock and roll, alternative country, a little funk, and even jazz, to create smooth melodies over a solid groove. The resulting sound is tight and technical, and filled with soul. A quoted “up and comer” in Tacoma's Weekly Volcano, Ginger Knoxx told her readers to “expect big things” from Matt in the future. His sound has led him to open for some very influential musicians such as Martin Sexton, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Storyhill, Christopher Cross, Curt Kirkwood, The Paperboys, Vicci Martinez, The Jude Bowerman Band, and The Eric McFadden Trio. With his home turf in the greater Seattle area, the Matt Coughlin Band has captivated audiences at popular scenes such as Jazzbones, ToST, The Triple Door, and Nectar. More recently, Matt has begun to travel further than the Puget Sound area for some acoustic touring and recorded his second EP in Bozeman, Montana with Chris Cunningham (Storyhill). Soul Deluxe with special guest Eldridge Gravy

ToST Soul Deluxe aims to build a sound that transcends the boundaries of any single genre and evokes a need to move. Formed as a bond between guitarist Garrett Smith and drummer Mark Postlewaite, this band creates original music built on a foundation of Funk and Hip Hop. Mark’s dedication to a steady beat creates a pocket for the Funk and Afrobeat stylings of guitarist Garrett Smith. ToST It is time to change your conception of Seattle based music. For over a decade, a new style of music has been growing and evolving in the clubs of this famous West Coast city. Marmalade embodies this new music we call Groove. Every Thursday night for the past ~6~ years, Marmalade has brought live improvised danceable grooves to a club called ToST. Sudan Water Project Benefit featuring Rewind, guests

ToST The Problem: Only 56% of Africa's population has access to clean water. For many people around the world, safe drinking water is a scarce resource, and out of necessity they resort to what's available- polluted water. But contaminated water isn't just dirty, it's deadly. Millions of people die each year of diseases like cholera and typhoid fever which are caused by poor sanitation. Diarrhea alone kills more than 4000 children each day. Millions of others are seriously sickened by a host of water-related ailments, many of which are easily preventable. Unsafe water and lack of basic sanitation cause 80% of all sickness and disease in the world. Our solution: We are raising funds to provide clean water to the people in the war-torn region of Southern Sudan. Dub Lounge International, guests

ToST Dub Lounge International's (DLI) live show is about as rootsy as they come. Ranging from original dancehall grooves to solid old school standards, guest vocalists are often invited to accompany their sultry 3-part harmony driven set. With a live-dub mentality, DLI empower listeners, and players alike and consider them involved in the creation of their sometime improv driven melodic meditations. Beginning as a recording project co-produced by drummer Dan Lloyd, and bassist Norman Baker, the crew expanded their dub onslaught by enlisting Jon Kimball on guitar, Darin "Diamond Dread" Pearson ..s, and Tali Ras on percussion, harmonica, and vocals. Thomas Starks, Alyse Black, Olivia de la Cruz

ToST Thomas Starks started as a traveler. Originally born in Yokosuka, Japan, his family later moved Iowa, and eventually to the West Coast. It was there, at the age of thirteen that he picked up an old, beat-up Washburn guitar and sparked an imperative relationship with music and lyrics. Although he experimented with many instruments, the guitar became his instrument of choice-an inevitable partner. His passion for music ignited and at fifteen, he was sneaking out of his house at night, finding solace at the local music clubs in Fresno His passion lead to various garage bands, where he played rhythm guitar and vocals, and in time started writing his own songs. The First Ladies, Israfel, guests

ToST The First Ladies have spent the last two years writing new songs, enhancing fan favorites, and expanding their desire to grow creativity as a band. Front-men Joel and Micah Smith have been writing together for over eight years. ToST WACO (Washington Composers Orchestra) could be called a "wild post-downtown non-traditional big band for folks that don't normally like big bands." Ben de la Couer, Jeff Greer

ToST Ben de la Cour began playing in metal bands at the age of eleven in Brooklyn. At twenty-five years old he has been a boxer in Cuba, a janitor in a mental institution, a farm worker and a frontman with London-based metal band Dead Man's Root with whom he released two albums. In late 2008 he began recording and gigging on his own, touring the UK as well as Ireland, France and Switzerland.
