Orpheus Choir is a 65-voice mixed choir from Olivet Nazarene University, located in Bourbonnais, Illinois. Now in its eighth decade of annual performances, Orpheus represents Olivet in concerts on the university's education region (Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, & Wisconsin), and has sung at many general assemblies of the Church of the Nazarene. The repertoire of this select group of singers includes anthems, hymns, spirituals, and contemporary compositions, representing different styles and periods of choral music. This is a free concert and a wonderful event for the whole family.

As the holiday season fast approaches, so do all the sweet, sugary, and sinful treats. Resisting these temptations is hard, but not when you have support from a club that shows you how to choose healthy, nutritious and delicious alternatives. The YMCA Holiday Trimmings Club is a free seven week program that runs throughout Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s providing participants with weekly health and fitness tips, healthy recipes and support and understanding. Those enrolled also have the opportunity to partake in a variety of classes designed especially for club members but available to everyone.
The Holiday Trimmings Club is open for anyone to join and begins with a weigh-in on November 23-24 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at any Green Bay YMCA. All participants will receive free use of the YMCA for one week, a voucher to waive the joiner fee if they decide to join later, and a training packet to chart their progress. In this season of hope and giving, the American Red Cross and Pitney Bowes Inc. have joined forces again to invite the public to “send a touch of home” to United States service members and veterans across the country and abroad through the Holiday Mail for Heroes campaign.
Now in its third year, the Holiday Mail for Heroes program provides Americans with the opportunity to extend holiday greetings and thanks to service members and veterans. Last year the program received more than 1.4 million cards for military men and women, their families and veterans.
The public can participate in the campaign by sending holiday cards with personal messages to a special post office box from Monday, November 2 through Monday, December 7. The Red Cross and Pitney Bowes will then screen cards for hazardous materials, sort and package the cards, and deliver them to military bases and hospitals, veteran’s hospitals and other locations in the U.S. and abroad during the holidays. In this season of hope and giving, the American Red Cross and Pitney Bowes Inc. have joined forces again to invite the public to “send a touch of home” to United States service members and veterans across the country and abroad through the Holiday Mail for Heroes campaign.
Now in its third year, the Holiday Mail for Heroes program provides Americans with the opportunity to extend holiday greetings and thanks to service members and veterans. Last year the program received more than 1.4 million cards for military men and women, their families and veterans.
The public can participate in the campaign by sending holiday cards with personal messages to a special post office box from Monday, November 2 through Monday, December 7. The Red Cross and Pitney Bowes will then screen cards for hazardous materials, sort and package the cards, and deliver them to military bases and hospitals, veteran’s hospitals and other locations in the U.S. and abroad during the holidays. Support the Meert family at Benjamin’s Benefit. There will be a silent auction, raffles, games, food and more. Benjamin Meert was born on June 21, 2009, with a serious heart defect. He has undergone numerous surgeries and months of treatment at the Milwaukee Children’s Hospital. All proceeds from the benefit will be going to help Benjamin’s parents, Frank and Jennifer (Willems) Meert, offset the tremendous medical costs incurred as well as the continued living expenses.
