Details

This virtual training, provided through both synchronous (online with facilitator) and asynchronous (remote) work, will focus on Shift 1: Text Complexity in alignment to the Mississippi College- and Career- Readiness Standards for English Language Arts. Participants will complete a two-week online course in Canvas, followed by a one-hour Zoom session to debrief on the new information learned. All three aspects of the text complexity triangle (quantitative analysis, qualitative analysis, and reader/task) will be covered fully, and educators will be equipped to make better complex text selections for their students.

The following schedule will be utilized:
October 26-November 9: Complete Canvas Course
November 10: Participate in live Zoom session from 3:30-4:45

Participants will be able to receive .5 CEUs for approximately 5 hours of work.
