Description KORU is a mindfulness course that has been developed and researched by Duke University. Aimed specifically at supporting individuals to live with less stress and manage life more effectively.
There are four 1 hour and 30 minute sessions that are facilitated weekly.
Thursday June 4- 11:30-1:00pm Thursday June 11-11:30-1:00pm Thursday June 18- 11:30-1:00pm Thursday June 25- 11:30-1:00pm
Each session teaches and provides time to practice both a skill and a mediation. A skill would be a walking meditation, or eating meditation. The meditation would be more traditional sitting practice and learning how to Labeling thoughts, or a Gatha (a meditation poem).
Between classes students will be asked to practice. They will have access to the KORU app (this is provided for free), which will easily guide them through a daily practice. When students complete an entry on the app, the information gets sent to Michelle who can then coach the students to ensure that they get the support they need to learn this new skill.
