The MCCS Community Counseling Program provides short-term, non-medical counseling focused on general life conditions, including life skills development, improving home and work relationships, stress management, adjustment issues (such as those related to deployment), marital challenges, parenting issues, and grief and loss. Counseling services are non-medical and are provided in accordance with Marine Corps Orders and Department of the Navy instructions. Services are limited to the scope of care authorized under Marine and Family Programs. If, during intake or counseling, it is determined that a client requires medical or long-term clinical mental health care, an appropriate referral will be provided. The Community Counseling Program is not authorized to provide evidence-based treatments considered medical counseling. Conditions that are outside the scope of our non-medical counseling services include, but are not limited to: *Personality, sexual, factitious, or impulse control disorders *Psychotic disorders or symptoms (e.g., delusions, hallucinations) *Persistent mood/affective/trauma disorders requiring extended care or psychiatric support *Severe or treatment-resistant anxiety, somatoform, or dissociative disorders *Organic mental disorders such as dementia significantly impairing duty *Eating disorders Our aim is to ensure that you receive the most appropriate care while maintaining compliance with policy and preserving the integrity of family support programs.
