Join us for a K16 Convening on Data Science, where educators and administrators from K-12 and higher education will come together to explore a generally transferable introductory data science course and discuss pathways for continued learning at the university level.

This event will provide an opportunity to:

• Engage in discussions on data science curriculum alignment across K-12 and higher education
• Learn about different data science programs across the state
• Collaborate with colleagues to strengthen K16 articulation and pathways
• Share insights and strategies for expanding access to data science education

• Build a Washington State Data Science Education community.
• Establish course learning outcomes for an accessible and transferable community college introduction to data science course, including identification of any specific topics and/or technologies.
• Create an inventory of data science programs at colleges/universities, including majors, minors, and adjacent programs, to use as the basis for a potential statewide transfer agreement.
• Identify strategies, tactics, and interventions that are currently in progress (or are planned for the near future) to increase access, broaden participation, and foster inclusion of students in the field of data science.
