All Emory Biomedical/Biological Science postdocs and graduate students seeking, planning to seek, or curious about careers in industry are strongly encouraged to attend this series.
Facilitated by: Bill Lindstaedt, MS, OPE Career ConsultantBill has been helping scientists and engineers make career decisions for more than 25 years. Since 2001, his career advising practice has focused exclusively on the needs of PhD level scientists. Since 2014, his primary appointment has been as Assistant Vice Chancellor for Career Advancement, International and Postdoctoral Services at UCSF. He has developed particular expertise working with biomedical scientists as they transition from academic positions to careers in biotech and other non-academic settings. Bill is also the a co-author of "myIDP", a popular career development tool hosted by Science magazine's careers site. In this seminar, you will learn how to prepare resumes and cover letters that will get you noticed during your search for research jobs in industry. You will learn how to find information on companies and how to reach out to industry scientists who can connect you with job opportunities, and push your resume along through the selection process.
