Jo is the author of A World Without Soil: The Past, Present and Precarious Future of the Earth Beneath Our Feet. Join us for a Q&A with Jo conducted by Maryn McKenna, journalist, best-selling author and Senior Fellow, CSHH, on Tuesday, March 29 from 6:00-7:00pm.

About Jo Handelsman:
Jo Handelsman is the director of the Wisconsin Institute for Discovery and a Vilas Research Professor and Howard Hughes Medical Institute Professor in the Department of Plant Pathology at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. She previously served as a science advisor to President Barack Obama. Her research focuses on the role of small molecules in the structure and function of microbial communities. She is the founder of Tiny Earth, a consortium of college instructors and students across the world dedicated to discovering new antibiotics from soil bacteria. As an expert in both soil science and science policy, she has just released her book, A World Without Soil.
