In Black Maternal Health Week, The Kansas Birth Equity Network (KBEN) and Office for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion are hosting a panel discussion titled Take Rood and End the Silence: A Reproductive Justice Conversation exploring the origins, meaning, and importance of reproductive justice. The panel will be moderated by Dr. Sharla Smith. Panelists include Stacey Knoell, Kansas African American Affairs Committee; Hakima Payne, Uzazi Village; Dr. Lynette Sparkman-Barnes, KU Medical Center; Rachel Stoutamire, Planned Parenthood; Sandra Thornhill, Doula; and Pastor Michael Brooks, The Oasis Church International.
