Identity, Belonging and Anti-Racism: Caregivers*This is a one (1) day event -Thursday, October 27, 2022, from 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
Addressing identity, anti-racism and belonging with children is guided by an understanding that the work of equity begins with adults reflecting on their identities. In Early Childhood environments, this includes increasing and refining knowledge of how to best support the healthy racial and cultural identities of very young children.Through this expertly designed and facilitated professional learning opportunity facilitated by Anahsa Consulting, caregivers will begin to develop the mindsets, skills, and frameworks needed to create joyful and equitable early childhood environments for children of all identities. Participants will explore how racism and bias impacts the early childhood field, children, families, and professionals; how preschools socialize young children into racial and cultural identities; and models of antiracist and anti-bias in Early Childhood environments.
