Co-hosted by The Carter Center Mental Health Program and the Carlos Museum, and in conjunction with Healing Arts, Atlanta, this innovative and interactive program will ground participants in the science related to the arts and youth mental health, provide examples of the positive effects of art-making on the mental health of young people impacted by racism in metro Atlanta, and allow participants to experience the positive impact of artmaking on our own well-being through a collaborative collage activity.Moderators:

This program is free and open to the public. Registration is required. Coaches will be provided to shuttle program participants to the 5-7 p.m. World Mental Health Day Reception at the David J. Sencer CDC Museum and back to the Carlos for easy access to Fishburne and Oxford Road Parking Decks. The CDC Museum event will include brief remarks from artists, activists and public health leaders about the current and future art and public health initiatives taking place in Atlanta as well as an opportunity to view the exhibition Stand & Witness: Time in the Art of Covid-19.
