Have you made a plan for the inevitable? In this 2-part program, we'd like to spark the conversation about what the end-of-life can potentially look like and make some decisions for peace of mind. The Panel Discussion features four professionals knowledgeable about the tools and resources needed to make your end-of-life plan. At the Paperwork Party, you'll have a chance to work through the Five Wishes workbook and the Advanced Health Care Directive Form in a relaxed environment so that your plan is written down. With a passionate belief that peace at the end begins with meaningful conversations over time, Lisa engages people in talking about and preparing for this important stage of life. Catherine, your Death Project manager, believes planning is an act of love, and logistics are care work. She is the creator of the Mortality Workbook, a toolkit to collect what your loved ones should know before you go, so that you can rest in peace. She is also the founder of Silent Book Club of Death, where death positive bookworms get to meet people and then ignore them, reading in silent community in 7+ chapters and pop ups globally. Jacquelyn Joyce became the sole caregiver for her mother (Lynn) and grandmother (Joyce) in 2016 after a faulty furnace leaked carbon monoxide into her family home, causing both to develop dementia. She began documenting her journey on Youtube, Facebook, Instagram and Tiktok under the handle @MomOfMyMom. They have amassed over 900k supporters across all platforms. She has since written for LA Times, been a featured guest on NPR and NBC News. After her mother's passing in March 2022, she has continued her path of becoming a television writer with the added goal of ensuring that stories about caregivers are made visible to the general public. With Mom Of My Mom, Jacquelyn continues to offer emotional support to caregivers through courses, classes and consultations. |
