Jessica Yarger will discuss the basics of seed saving including planning, pollination, harvest, and storage. She will go over good beginner crops and different seed processing methods.
Bring a tomato and a jar (with a lid) for some hands on seed saving. Registration is required.
Jessica is a certified UC Master Gardener and the Coordinator for the Altadena Seed Library. As a long time home gardener, she is drawn to seeds for their beauty and understands seeds to be foundational in the cycle of the garden — understanding the seed cycle is honoring the complete plant cycle.
