Depending on the field, the majority of PhD earners find a career home outside of the tenure track faculty pathway. Want to learn more about how to prepare yourself and search for a resilient, post-ac career? Dr. Karen Kelsky, founder of The Professor Is In, will offer advice on turning your PhD into a job outside of academia. Learn how to articulate your transferrable skills, develop strategies for non-academic job hunting, and address the emotional and logistical barriers that often inhibit PhDs from trying. This information will be contextualized by the urgency of getting a non-ac income stream in light of current hiring freezes and funding reductions across higher education.

Dr. Kelsky will present for approximately an hour followed by a 30 minute Q&A.

We will give away a limited number of copies of Dr. Kelsky's book, The Professor is In, to the first attendees to arrive.
