Conventional wisdom states that 50-75% of communication is non-verbal, but in an online environment many of these visual cues are lacking, and what remains is the “talking head”. How can you maximize your visual presence in an online environment?
In this virtual workshop, you will learn how to project a professional, engaging, and confident persona when participating in online communication tasks such as presentations, meetings, consultation. You will practice optimal body and face positioning; apply meaningful, synchronized gestures, facial energy, and vocal energy; practice making eye contact with the camera; and consider lighting and background choices
This workshop will be delivered through zoom, facilitated by Peggy Wagner, an instructor in the English Language Support Program. Peggy has extensive experience teaching professional communication skills to international grad students, post docs, and professionals.
