This 90-minute session provides practical guidance on creating accessible math content in Canvas and Microsoft Word. Participants will start with a brief overview of encoding types for math expressions, ensuring a strong foundation.
The session then explores the best tools and processes for entering equations, structuring math for screen readers, and managing accessibility settings in Canvas and Word. Strategies for writing effective alt text for images and data visuals—such as describing bar charts without giving away answers—will also be covered. By the end, participants will be able to follow a clear process for producing accessible math content that supports student learning.
