Join us for a screening of the 2022 documentary The Lives Between the Lines, the powerful film documenting the inspiration for and construction of the Memorial to Enslaved Laborers at the University of Virginia. Afterwards, a panel of Descendants of Enslaved Communities at the University of Virginia will discuss the memorial, their vision and goals for the DEC-UVA, and how they honor the legacies of enslaved and free Black communities and their descendants.
