On April 17, 1964, Geraldine “Jerrie” Mock made history by becoming the first woman to fly solo around the world in her single engine Cessna 180, known as the “Spirit of Columbus.” Join Shaesta Waiz, pilot and Jerrie Mock’s mentee, and Wendy Hollinger, publisher of Mock’s autobiography Three-Eight Charlie as they discuss Mock’s legacy in aviation history and how she still inspires young female pilots today.
After the lecture, the We All Fly will be open so attendees can view Jerrie Mock’s plane, the Spirit of Columbus.
