Register and you will receive an e-mail with the Zoom meeting link 1 hour before the meeting begins.
Presenting your work in a virtual environment comes with a unique set of challenges, most importantly, how to keep your audience engaged and ensure they fully understand you.
In this virtual workshop, you will apply skills for overcoming these challenges to your own presentations so that you sound professional, clear, confident, and engaging when you present your work to your online audience.
You will learn how to use your voice to keep your audience alert and focused, how to create slides that help your audience follow you, and how to use specific language to discuss your visuals (graphs, charts, images,) with clarity and purpose.
You are invited to work on a portion of a current or past presentation during the workshop, so come with some slides. If you do not have a presentation to practice with, one will be provided.
This workshop will be delivered through zoom, facilitated by Peggy Wagner, an instructor in the English Language Support Program. Peggy has extensive experience teaching professional communication skills to international grad students, post docs, and professionals.
