Archive events
You can set up archive calendars to hold specific sets of past events. This can help to organize past events for historical or accounting purposes, or to limit the number of events on a particular calendar.
How to archive past events
To archive past events, you essentially move the events from any calendar to an archive calendar you've created for that purpose.
- Create one or more calendars to hold the archived events.
We recommend using a form of the active calendar's name for clarity, such as adding the word "Archive" to the beginning of the original name. (You may also want to create additional calendars to separate the archive calendars by a timeframe. For example, you could name an archive calendar "Archive - 2013 - Original Name" for "Original Name".)
- After you've created the archive calendars you need, go through your calendars one at a time.
- Change the view on each to the List view. You'll see the current listing of events, from today forward.
- Click the left paging (arrow) button to navigate to past events. (Note that if you don't see a left button, there are no other past events.)
- Click the left page (arrow) button again to go to events further in the past. Each page shows about 100 events.
- Click Select: All to select all of the events on each page. Each event now has a checkmark. You can only move the events on one page at a time.
Note: To be more selective about what you want to archive, you can manually check individual events rather than using the Select: All option.
- From the drop down select Move events to… and then to the right select the calendar to where the events should be moved (archived).
- Repeat these steps, as necessary, until you've completed archiving the past events.
